A Valentine for Silk

When everything can change in an instant,
you stay as constant as a star
in my spinning round world.
When some days just make me want to hide in the barn,
the murmur of your gentle welcome
comforts my worn out soul.
You carry me to places far beyond
the dusty tracks of this arena
trusting me trusting you
as the journey takes us
into the unknown
and back again.

Happy Valentine's Day to my Silkie Silk, the best horse in the world!

Victoria...What a beautiful and special piece you wrote for Silk. That says it all. People without horses don't know what this feels like.

We have new snow here, but the sun is bright and it makes me feel like a million bucks. Hope all is well where you are and that we can have an early spring.

Beautifully written! Sweet Silk is your special Valentine!
I'm glad things are unthawing there and I'm sure the girls were happy to get their blankies off and roll in the wet mess! ;)

We do save each other in the end, if we are lucky enough to love like you and Silk love.

Beautiful! I spent part of Valentine's day nose to nose with horses, nuzzling and petting, breathing in their lovely scent, feeling their warm breath intermingle w/ mine... it was a wondrous day.
I envy your daily dose of horse love!

This makes me long for my beloved mare, Scandalous. Thanks for the reminder. I sure do miss that mare.
